Self Trust: You Are Your Own Living Encyclopedia

Girl hugging herself trusting her self

What if I told you that you are your own encyclopedia?

Yes, you. Your own Wikipedia. Your own Google. You’re a walking, talking, infinite library of wisdom and knowing. Sounds ridiculous, right? Like I’m about to hand you a crystal ball and tell you to chant under the full moon? Not today.

The reason this feels far-fetched is simple: somewhere along the way, society did a real number on us.

We’ve been programmed to believe that our answers live outside of us. “Ask this person,” they say.

“Consult that professional; they have a degree in Big Words and Fancy Paper.” We’ve been spoon-fed the idea that we’re somehow inadequate to guide ourselves. And so we rush to the external—desperate for opinions, approval, and validation.

But here’s the thing: dependence is control’s BFF. If you need someone else to tell you what’s best for you, how long before you become a little puppet on their strings?

No offence, but this isn’t a blame game. It’s a wake-up call. Consider this your formal invitation to step out of the “help me, I don’t know anything” hamster wheel. Because guess what? You do know. You’ve always known.

Don’t get me wrong—I’m not claiming I’ve unlocked all the secrets of the universe (though if I had, I’d definitely be selling tickets). What I am saying is that when it comes to my life—my choices, my growth—I know better than anyone. And so do you.

Now, let me throw in a caveat before someone loses their mind in the comments: there is beauty in seeking guidance. It’s powerful to ask for help—when it comes from an empowered place. But before you go looking outward, take a moment to consult the expert already within you. Yep, that’s you. Dig deep. Ask yourself, “What’s the real issue here? What do I need? What feels off?”

And once you’ve done that—then you can go and seek advice. But don’t let anyone rip you apart like a Thanksgiving turkey, shoving their limiting beliefs into your brain as if they’re the gospel truth. Stand in your power. You have the right to discern what resonates and what doesn’t.

Your Mind, Your Library: Self-Trust is the Key

Here’s where the shift happens: when you lead from self-trust, you’re no longer a puppet in someone else’s story. You’re the creator of your own. You’re no longer prey to someone’s fear-based narrative or unsolicited opinions about what you should or shouldn’t do. You become the gatekeeper of your energy, choosing what gets in and what stays out.

And here’s the kicker—you already know this. Somewhere deep down, you’ve always known this. Even as you read this blog, a part of you is nodding along because it’s sparking something that’s been buried under layers of programming.

So, pause. Right now, pause and ask yourself:

  • “What am I actually looking for?”

  • “What do I know in my core to be true?”

Everything you seek is already within you. You just have to unlearn the noise to hear it again. The real question is, are you ready to tune in?

Go ahead. Google yourself. You’ll be amazed at what you find.
